'The Arrival"

This is definately a looooooong story. But I will try to cut it short. On the 9th of May around 1.30 am. I had contraction pain. At 1st I brushed it off thinking its a Braxton Hicks. Thats solely because the due given for me was 20th of May. Then the pain was keep coming every two hours. At 7 am, vim sent me off to my parent's place and left to work. I could feel the pain was intensifying and somehow my instinct said, 'its time'... I called Vim back and I got ready to shoot off to the hospital.

When they checked, the midwives said, it is time and its just about the right length of opening. I was brought into the labour room at 1.30 pm and and the contraction happened every 1 hour. I wont be explaining how the pain was and all because I dont want to impart any kind of negative impression to the female readers.

At 6.45, the pain became intense, cervix dilated completely and Vim was asked to come in. And at 7.04pm, my darling angel was born and its a baby girl!!! She was perfect and truly looked like an angel.. I will never forget one particular moment where my newborn turned towards Vim and her tiny hands were trying to reach for him.. That made him shed tears and it didnt stop for almost 20 mins.. He was truly touched.. It was an unforgettable moment for both of us for sure!! That was love at first sight!! We just love her more than anything else...!!!

The Beginning point of a New Arrival

Hmm I know, This one is very super easy to guess.. Yes, On the 22nd of September, it was confirmed that I was pregnant!! No words in the dictionary would describe how happy we were. We were more than happy to welcome our bundle of joy.. I was ready to face the beautiful 40 weeks journey and trust me it was so beautiful. Pregnancy is indeed beautiful. Just to give a glimpse of what kinda pregnancy experience i went through, I would share the experience according to the trimester basis.

1st Trimester

To be honest, I had quite bad 1st trimester. It was nothing but severe morning sickness for me. I would throw up whatever that goes in (including plain water) and I was hospitalized twice for severe dehydration. I was bedridden most of the time and number of MC's I took.. hmm I cant remember. But my luck , I had my mom and vim who really took a great care of me with so much of patience. They would give me the word of strength and pampered me like a baby. 1st trimester was a tiring one.

2nd Trimester

Yippeee.. The fun started here. I became completely normal and could have a good meal already. Naturally, I had loads of vegetables, many many glasses of milk, & great servings of fruits everyday without fail and I avoided spicy, oily and junk food. Many said, my face was glowing.. unsure of that. But, I had no skin problems.. no hairfall, no pimples, no oily face, no dry skin.. Thanks to the pregnancy hormones! I was active again and I felt so good.. During the 4th month, I felt the quickening..It was truly awesome!!! As it approached the 6th month, the nudging n kicking became stronger and Vim could feel it tooo!!! Somehow we both shared a same thought whereby, we wanted to keep the gender of the baby as a surprise.. And we did till the final hour! May it be Adam or Eve, only love I'm gonna Give!!

3rd Trimester

The heaviness began here. I started to feel a bit tired and i had sleepless nights. It was quite hard to move left and right while lying down and thank god vim was there to help.. Nothing much during the 3rd trimester as it was full of lethargy. And yeah, on the 1st of May, my parents held  a traditional baby shower ceremony for me which was very exciting. The traditional way of indian baby shower is that, the married women would bless the pregnant lady with loads of bangles and other gifts. Some may ask, why bangles? I can explain scientifically with some knowledge that i know of. When a pregnant lady wears loads of bangles,  it makes sheer sounds. And that would tingle the baby's hearing abilities which is obviously very good for the development. It was a simple ceremony and guess what, Vim had my name tatooed a day before the ceremony!! I was touched and ... No words.. Love you Vim..

So after this function.. I was just waiting for the 2nd big day...I have to specially mention here that, without Vim, I wouldnt have endured my pregnancy smoothly.. Thanks Baby.. Love you loads!

Love,
Kogie

Engagement, Registration & Wedding..

Yes, the title says it all. I'll put a simple note on every special occasion of ours.

Engagement

Date   : 15 February 2010
Venue : My House
Theme : Red & Gold

It was indeed an auspicious occasion for me.. 1st time i felt so feminine and nervous of course. Only close family members & friends were invited for this function yet it was so grand and memorable. Instead of going for common whitegold & diamond rings, we wanted something unique and solid. Therefore, we ordered gold ring with our names embossed. It was so lovely and infact captured attention of many.

It was a colourful event and everyone enjoyed every bit of it. :)

Registration

Date   : 19 May 2010
Venue : Jabatan Pendaftaran Batu Caves

A last we both got hitched legally on that day. Though it was an exciting day, somehow I felt so nervous and I asked myself many times whether I'm taking the right decision or not. ahahahha.. I know it sounds stupid but thats what I had in mind. I looked so nervous that even the registrar asked whether I'm happy with this marriage. Hahhaha.. At last, the 15 mins of life-time sweet contract signing ended and we went to Batu Caves temple for prayers followed by breakfast at Money Corner.

Wedding

Date   : 20 August 2010
Venue : Sri Ramar Temple, Selayang
Theme : Beige & Gold

Since Vim is a Malayalee, our wedding was held according to their culture & traditions. And according to their culture, the Bride should wear a off-white colour saree. Most of the Malayalee brides would end up having the Saree with the combination of off-white with gold or maroon or red. I wanted to break that common thing so I looked for a different combination. Since there was only limited collections available here, I flew to India to get my wedding saree. I was spoilt with choices and at last I chose my most favourite. It was so lovely and of course, unique. Our wedding card and Vim's groom attire (Veshti & Jippa) were from india too. The preparations were head crashing and I lost 5kgs before my big day. It was very stressful but exciting too.

My big day was held at 5.45am.. Yeah I know, its very early.. But according to Indian beliefs, that would be the best time to get married. It was simple yet, a beautiful wedding. The sense of nervous didnt hit me till i was chaperoned through the isle. I could feel my hands were getting cold and a chill ran down my back.

He was sitting there while giving a welcome smile. When I sat beside him, he came closer to me and whispered ' you look beautiful'.. hahaha.Hope he told the truth... The ceremony went on.. Since it was a Malayalee wedding, it took lesser than half an hour. I need to mention an important incident here. Tying the Thali is the very most important part of a wedding ceremony. And my man was stammering while doing that. hahahha!!! and I could not hold my laughter any longer after that.. It was fun & emotional filled moment for me though.

Till I die, I would never forget my Big Day because, I married the love of my life..and it happened in the most beautiful way!

It was a great moment.. & the moments were captured well tooo...

When Vimalan Met Kogie

I could only smile when it comes to this chapter. It was a magical moment for both of us. It was in 2008,  at Legend Hotel, KL we met. I temporarily joined in as the Sales Coordinator and totally was in blur of the Hospitality field. All because I was a Biotechnology Graduate.. However, due to no-job issue, i just took up what ever that came across.

It was in February. This young, good-looking, with a name tag saying VIMALAN & very friendly man passed me by with a magical smile... I wont say I fell for that. He was friendly, which most of the Indian Men lacked. That was what attracted me. Since then, I only met him few times in few functions in the hotel. I got to know that he was with the F&B team.. However, he went missing for few months which I thought most probably he would have resigned.

Then came this particular function in April  hosted by our Sales Team at Cenderawasih Boardroom. It was a loyalty club function if i'm not mistaken. I was incharged of that function and guess what, this man popped for this function as he was the Supervisor in-charge. We looked at each other and it was kind of an awkward situation.

Then, he went over to my colleague, Afidah Lu and they had some chit chats looking at me. I felt weird as I thought they were gossipping about me or my apparel. And soon after, he left and Afidah came to me and said, 'hey kogie, dia suka kat u la.. "..I didnt expect that of course. That's because he covered it up earlier.. Not even once he showed that he was interested in me. Neither do I.  and I was blushing like no other but of course I covered it up :P..

The next Monday he came and we exchanged our numbers. Then the sms rally started which happens till now.. We shared everything about ourselves, we dated, we talked, we laughed and we realized, we were meant for each other. He proposed, which I accepted of course and my life was filled with loads of happines after that. Love is magical for sure.

Of course the hardest part came in where I needed to introduce my relationship & him to my beloved parents. Utter rejection of course. All because of his career field and they were worried this guy might not be serious and may hurt their daughter. Well, it took a year for me to convince my parents and at last they are in love with him now too..

So now, u can guess what will be my next post...

Cheers,

Kogie
